The entire computer server was down again and there was also no internet connection this time. GGgggRrRr. It’s now 2.30pm and it is only now that everbody is able to do their work. We really have a bad server in the office. The entire blame should go on the person who designed the server. It’s his luck that he doesn’t work here anymore, if not he would had been having a HARD time here. We want to re-design the server but Tim is not with us. He’s just too afraid of the cost. “EXCUSE ME….if the server is always down, we can’t get to work and neither could you expect your business to run well.”
Tim is enjoying his vacation in Canada wheras we are have a hard time with the bloody server.
My day is really very very very boring and I’m feeling as lethargic as ever. [***Sien***]
Tomorrow might b a lucky day for me because it’s my pay day. It will be even more special if Milo fetches me from work. My dad used to fetch me whenever I finished work late but now that he’s busy with his new business, I left all alone in the MRT.
I’m now in a state where I will be fast asleep if I go near the couch behind me. I went back home only at about 9pm yesterday. My mum hates it when I bring my work back home but I’m now doing a “High-Tech Guide” section in the magazine for Digital Cameras. Thus, there needs to be a lots of researches to be done to chose the perfect features. By the time I finished all my stuffs, it was almost 1am. ***I really need my Bolster here***
I just don’t want what happened today to happen tomorrow again. I really hate carrying around m laptop but seems like I don’t have another option.

I’ve always known that English is a rather funny, or more accurately, a rather inconsistent language. But I never realized just how frustrating that inconsistency can be until I started teaching my niece phonics. With all the confusing spellings, digraphs, similar-sounding words that are spelt differently and words with multiple meanings, I am frequently at my wit’s end when facing doubts and questions from Keesha.
- How do I teach her to say ‘put’ the right way? As far as she is concerned, ‘u’ is pronounced the way it is in ‘umbrella’. So she reads ‘cut’, ‘but’ and ‘nut’ OK but when it comes to ‘put’, I’m stuck.
- How do I make her understand that ‘cake’ starts with a ‘c’ and not a ‘k’?
- How do I explain to her that she reads ‘hug’ correctly but when a single letter ‘e’ is added to the end, she has to read it as though she were reading ‘hewj’?
- How do I teach her to read ‘door’? When I try to read it the way we pronounce it, she corrects me saying that since it has two o’s, it needs to be pronounced the way ‘good’ is pronounced.
- What do I say when she asks “Why is it called a kitchen counter Chithi? Is it because you can count on it?”
Even worse is the fact that there’s no way of pointing out her mistakes either. Attempts to correct something she says are usually met with a question like “So is my teacher wrong Chithi?” Not wanting to turn her into some kind of a rebel who doesn’t respect her teachers and not inclined to incur the wrath of her teachers for that, I am forced to back down at that point and meekly accept her version of the word.
I know that more reading and listening to people talking as she grows up are going to help her understand the intricacies of the English language. But until then, I need to realize that when she says ‘huggy’, it may not be a request for a hug at all. She may just be trying to read the word ‘huge’…

I came across a rather interesting pair of shoes today. Remember those shoes for kids from about 5 years ago that had red lights blinking on and off when they walked? Well now, Pleaser USA has created virtually the same thing in a whopping 6 inch heel for us adults. “Bluelite 701,” “Multilite 608″ features motion activated lights. Well, I don’t personally care for this look, I will give you this- if your walking home at night in a blackout, you won’t have to worry about needing a flashlight! However take some advice- don’t wear these to the movies!

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann’d:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

A young girl missed her period for 2 months … Very worried, the mother goes to the drugstore and buys a pregnancy test kit. The test result shows that the girl is pregnant.
Shouting, cursing & crying, the mother screams: “Who did this to you? I want to know …!!!”.
The girl picks up the phone and makes a call. Half an hour later a Ferrari Car stops in front of their house, a mature and distinguished man with dark hair and impeccably dressed in a very expensive suit steps out of the car and enters the house slowly.
He sits in the living room with the father, the mother and the girl and tells them: “Good morning, your daughter has informed me of the problem. However, I can’t marry her because of my personal family situation, but I’ll take the responsibility”.
If the baby is born a girl I will give her 2 retailed stores, a townhouse, a beach Villa and $1m bank account. If a boy is born, my legacy will be a couple of factories and $2m bank account. If it is twins, 5 factories each and $5m for each child. “However, if there is a miscarriage, what do you suggest I do?”
At this point, the girl’s father, who had remained silent, places his hand firmly on the man’s shoulder and tells him: “YOU CAN TRY AGAIN !”.

Man…I’m embarresed to call myself a Literature student…I literally spelt out a Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s poem as William Shakespheare’s!!! To be frank…I used to detest ancient/old poems. But now I fine that these poems educate us more than any other modern poem!! Since, I am now only reading these poems, just bear with the fact that I’m still wet behind the ears.
On the other hand, I have a vital information about LYSS’s status in the ARENA. Well…be strong…Loyang lost in the semi-finals. I am not very sure which school they competed against. But I have to say one thing here, Loyang Secondary School had made it’s alumnis feel proud.
***Good Job Well Done***

Kudos to Singapore coach Raddy Avramovic for making the changes that changed the shape of the game. The Thais were given too much room in the midfield and the Lions were giving too many balls away in the first half, resulting in non-stop pressure and eventually that first goal.

I wouldn’t say it was a well deserved victory for the Lions as their play were still dreadful for most period. The group stage only saw them winning one out of three matches and that single victory was against Laos. They also scrapped through the semi-final with a 6-5 penalty shoot out victory over the Malaysians. Lastly, they won the first leg with a controversial penalty which on hindsight, shouldn’t have been awarded.
HOWEVER, a victory is still a victory more so sweeter when it was away from home! Kudos to the team and the officials for putting up a good game in Thailand after all the hoopla from the first leg. Let’s enjoy the moment, before we scrutinise the team over their performance in the past two weeks and look forward to the next tournament!
Again – Well done Lions!
